Terms of Service
Last updated 12 August 2026
These are the rules for using Vouchnexus. They are written in plain language on purpose: a term you cannot understand is a term you cannot agree to.
Our operating company is not yet finalised
Everything below describes exactly how Vouchnexus handles your information today, and you can rely on it. What is still being confirmed is the registered company, its address, the law that governs these terms, and the regulator you can complain to. We publish this page now rather than a placeholder because you are entitled to know what happens to your data before you decide to use the service. This notice will be replaced by those details, and the “last updated” date above will change when it is.
Who you are dealing with
Vouchnexus is operated by the company operating Vouchnexus (to be confirmed, see the notice above). We run a marketplace: restaurants and cafés (“merchants”) list offers, and you buy vouchers for them.
We are not the restaurant.The meal, the service and the experience are the merchant’s. What we are responsible for is the voucher: that you receive it, that it is valid, and that it can be redeemed on the terms shown when you bought it.
What a voucher is
A voucher entitles you to a specific offer at a specific merchant, subject to the conditions shown on the offer page at the time you bought it: the branches where it is valid, the days and hours, any minimum spend, and the expiry date. Those conditions are part of your purchase and cannot be changed afterwards to your disadvantage.
Vouchers expire. The expiry date is shown before you buy, on the voucher itself, and we send reminders before it passes. An expired voucher cannot be redeemed and is not refundable, so please use it.
Redemption requires a connection. Staff scan your voucher and our system confirms it in real time. This is deliberate: it is what stops the same voucher being used twice. If a venue has no connection at that moment, redemption may have to wait.
Paying
Prices are shown inclusive of what you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see your card details.
Some offers are pay at the venue rather than paid online. Those are marked as such before you reserve, and you pay the merchant directly in cash or by card at the venue.
Refunds
You are entitled to a refund if:
- the merchant cannot honour the offer as described;
- the merchant closes, or stops accepting vouchers, before yours expires;
- you were charged more than once for the same voucher; or
- the voucher was never delivered to you and we cannot deliver it.
You are not entitled to a refund simply because you changed your mind after redeeming, or because a voucher expired unused. We will always tell you which of these applies and why.
To request a refund, contact us through support. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
If a merchant closes
If a merchant stops trading while you hold a valid, unredeemed voucher, we will refund you. This is the risk we take by running a marketplace, and it is not one we pass to you.
Using the service honestly
Do not:
- copy, forge or resell vouchers;
- use someone else’s email address to buy or claim a voucher;
- attempt to redeem the same voucher more than once; or
- interfere with the service or try to access other people’s data.
Vouchers are cryptographically signed, so a forged one will not pass at the till. If we find an account being used this way we may suspend it and refuse to refund vouchers obtained through it.
For merchants
Approval. A new merchant account is reviewed before it can sell anything. Until it is approved, offers can be prepared but are not visible to customers.
Our fee. We charge a fee per voucher sold, shown to you before you publish an offer. We do not take a percentage of your ordinary trade, and we do not require exclusivity.
Payouts.We collect the customer’s payment and pay you for vouchers that have been redeemed, less our fee. Vouchers sold but not yet redeemed are not yet payable, because the customer may still turn up or ask for a refund. Pay-at-venue offers are not paid out at all, because you took the money directly.
Your obligations. Honour every valid voucher on the terms you published, keep your offers and branch details accurate, and tell us before you stop trading so we can deal fairly with outstanding vouchers.
Suspension. We may suspend a merchant that refuses valid vouchers, misdescribes offers, or puts customers at risk. Vouchers already sold remain valid and we will make sure customers are not left out of pocket.
What we do not promise
We do not promise that the service will be available without interruption, that any particular offer will exist, or that a merchant will remain on the platform. We do promise that a voucher you have paid for will be honoured or refunded.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect. Changes never apply retroactively to vouchers you have already bought. Those keep the terms they were sold under.
Governing law
The law governing this agreement, and the courts that would hear a dispute, are part of the pending company details described in the notice at the top of this page. Until they are confirmed, nothing here limits any right you have under the law that applies to you where you live.
